Baked Vegan Cauliflower Buffalo Wings

A great healthy dish that can be served as an appetizer. Follow these simple instructions and share if you like it.

To start off, you will need the following:

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 1/2 cup almond or soy milk
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup gluten-free rice flour
  • 2 tsp garlic power
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 cup any red hot sauce such as Frank’s hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegan butter
  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions:

Using a baking tray, grease very well with oil. Preheat your oven to 450 F.  clean the cauliflower and cut them into small pieces. Mix the milk, water, flour and spices in a medium mixing bowl. We will add the hot sauce and butter later. Mix until the batter is thick and is able to coat the cauliflower without dripping. Add the cauliflower to the batter. Lay the cauliflower single layer on the baking tray.

Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown, flipping the florets over halfway through to get all sides golden brown. While the cauliflower is baking, prepare the ingredients for the sauce by mixing together see below. Remove from the oven. Toss the cauliflower in the sauce then using tongs, remove and place back on the baking sheet. Bake for another 5 minutes for the sauce to soak into the cauliflower. Remove from the oven and serve immediately with a vegan ranch dressing.

To make the sauce:

While the cauliflower are baking, in a small pot over high heat, mix the vinegar based hot sauce like Frank’s hot sauce, the vegan butter, 1 teaspoon garlic powder and 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup. Bring to a boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
